Carli Lloyd announces her retirement from the U.S. national women's soccer team
The U.S. female national team announced her retirement last week. The USWNT has been deeply grieving the loss. Carli Lloyd was with the team for 15 year and has played in five World Cups. She also won three. She will be missed, however, she will not be forgotten. After the Olympics, she got married in November 2016, and has since been married to Brian Hollins. In the 66th minute, she was replaced by a South Korean player in a friendly match. A standing ovation was given to her as she walked off the field, taking off her cleats and jersey with her husband's name.
