Schmitt
Allison Schmitt is one of the most decorated American female athletes. She was unable to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games and she struggled with depression after that. She was even able to fall into deep depression. She had a difficult time competing at the 2016 Olympic trials. Thankfully, her determination to return to the pool was rewarded and she has become a US Olympic swimming champion again.
Vollmer
Dana Whitney Vollmer is an Olympic gold medalist five times and a former world record holder at the swimming competition. She won the 2004 Summer Olympics gold medal in swimming and set a record for the event. She also won the Olympic bronze, and the bronze medal at 2008 Summer Olympics. Joyner-Kersee
Jacqueline Joyner Kersee from the USA, a retired track and cross athlete, has won four Olympic bronze medals. She is a great long jumper and heptathlete. Her many achievements include the 1984 Olympic long-jump title. Joyner Kersee also won the 1996 long jump silver medal.
Evans
Aja L., a Bobsledder for Team USA, is an Olympic Medalist and is a brakeman in the bobsled. She grew up in Chicago, where she was an All-American shot putter and a track & field City Champion. At the University of Illinois, Evans won a shot put title and was an All-American in track and field. She made her Olympic debut in 2012, when she joined the bobsled squad.
Voisin
Maggie Voisin from the United States is a female Olympic athlete. After sustaining a leg fracture, she missed the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. After breaking her leg, Voisin returned to competition at the 2018 Winter Olympics. However, she missed the podium because of a torn left ACL. Voisin was unable to compete for eight years due to the injury, but Voisin is back.
Retton
Retton, a 2004 President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports member, was one of many organizations created by the U.S. government in an effort to increase physical activity and encourage Americans to get involved in sports. This council is part of United States Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Public Health and Science. Retton met his sponsor and helped drop the bill, although it did not become law.
