
The Women's National Basketball Association will celebrate its 26th season in 2022 with the 2022 WNBA seasons. The Chicago Sky will be the defending champions. It will also feature 36 regular season matches per team - that's the most in a single WNBA seasons.
Chicago Sky wins WNBA Season
Parker, a Naperville, Ill. native, was back in Chicago to play for the Sky after 13 seasons at the Los Angeles Sparks. Her title was "the missing piece" and she was proven to be that during the final game of the season. Griner, meanwhile, was the center of Phoenix's offense early on, scoring 28 points, 18 of which came in the first half. Skylar and her teammate Skylar diggins-Smith led the team to a 9th-quarter run.
Sylvia Fowles is the WNBA's all time leading scorer
Fowles is clearly happy despite a poor performance in WNBA. While she would prefer to be winning, she understands that life is more important than basketball. Because of this, she is more confident now than ever about her ability to make an impact and achieve her goals.

Seattle Storm is a perennial contender
The defending WNBA champions the Seattle Storm are currently in the midst a rebuilding phase. They were able to win the championship in 2010 thanks to the help of Sue Bird, an elderly woman, and Lauren Jackson (a dominant stretch-5 from Australia). The standings fell due to Jackson's absence. That didn't stop the Storm from drafting new players in the 2015 and 2016 drafts.
Chicago Mercury a deep playoff team
The Mercury have made many trades that will help them improve on their last season's performance. The team acquired Bridget Pettis from Jillian Alleyne and Kim Smith in exchange for the thirteenth round of the 2012 Draft. Also, they received two players in this year's WNBA Draft along with a first-round pick from Minnesota Lynx. Noelle Quinn (A'Quonesia Franklin), Temeka and Temeka, respectively, were also traded to Minnesota Lynx/Los Angeles Sparks. The Mercury received a second round pick in 2013 and a pick in 2014 from the New York Liberty.
Washington Mystics' Elena Delle-Donne
Washington Mystic Elena Delle Donne: The two-time WNBA Champion will begin her fourth season with Washington Mystic. She averaged over 20 point per game in the regular season and ranked third in playoffs with an average field goal percentage of 50.8%. For the sixth consecutive year, she was named to the All-Star team. She was the leader of Washington Mystics to their first WNBA Championship. She also set a number WNBA and franchise records.
Chicago Mercury's Chelsea Gray
Gray's teammates witnessed a significant transformation in Chicago Mercury's point guard. Gray was passed over for her fifth straight All-Star award. Gray has emerged as one of the league's best, making big plays and leading her team towards a 4-0 record.

Seattle Storm's Sue Bird
Sue Bird has confirmed that she will play another season of the WNBA Season in 2021 after contemplating retiring. She will receive bonuses and endorsements in addition to a veteran minimum of $72,141. Bird spoke to her team during Wednesday's dinner. She also spoke to her former teammates and other friends. She was drafted in 2002 by Storm and spoke later with Karen Bryant, her first boss.
