Carla Esparza, a professional mixed-martial artist from the United States, is Carla Esparza. She competes as a women's fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She is the UFC Women's Strawweight Champion, and she has also won two UFC titles.

Esparza was first prominent after she signed with Invicta FC in 2012. Invicta FC 2, 2012, saw Sarah Schneider be defeated by Esparza. Esparza attacked Schneider with a heel hook, and quickly got on Schneider's back. She briefly tried to apply the rear-naked choke after she had successfully controlled her opponent.

Carla Esparza has been a professional fighter since 2010. She is the UFC strawweight champion as well as the first Invicta FC strawweight champ. She currently ranks #4 in the UFC women’s strawweight rankings, as of January 20, 211. Esparza was the winner of the Ultimate Fighter 20 women’s strawweight competition in 2014.

Carla Esparza's record is not perfect, as she has lost to Jessica Andrade, Claudia Gadelha, and Randa Markos. She also has fought in close matches against Jessica Andrade and Weili Zhang. This could be seen to be a red alert given her five-fight winning record.

She was defeated by Coenen II at Invicta FC 6.

Cyborg has the edge over Coenen, a determined and aggressive fighter. Coenen was unable stop Cyborg's constant assault, despite a round that saw both fighters landing leg kicks. In the second round, Cyborg scored a takedown and landed a series of punches. Coenen was trying escape but Cyborg managed to land a few power hits to end the round.


Cyborg will defend her featherweight title, against Coenen. The Strikeforce former featherweight champion won their fight by TKO. Coenen enters the fight with a winning streak of two fights. The winner will take on either Ayako or Carla Hamasaki.

She suffered nerve damage in 2007

Carla Esparza, despite suffering nerve damage in 2007, has been able return to action in recent times. Rose Namajunas, who was Rose's opponent in the UFC strawweight division, defeated Esparza. In November, she will be defending her title against Zhang Weili who was the previous champ. She posted recently on social media an update about her fight camp.

Esparza went to hospital following the accident. There, she was diagnosed as having nerve damage. Her hospital bill was $30,000 but she agreed to fight. InvictaFC 7 was her next fight. She defeated Maya Hamasaki again. She later fought Claudia Gadelha, but Gadelha withdrew due to stomach illness.

She won two title bouts against Rose Namajunas

Rose Namajunas is a former woman's lightweight champion and Carla Esparza has faced her in two title fights. Namajunas reclaimed the title in November and won it back in April. The fight was close all the way, but neither fighter scored a knockout. Esparza won by 48 to 47.

Esparza was 3-3 for 29 months before this title fight. But, her victory over Virna Januarydiroba in April 2019 set up a five-fight win streak. She went on to beat Yan Xiaonan in a COVID-quiet UFC APEX event in Las Vegas, finishing in under eight minutes. In June 2019, she retained her title with a knockout in the first round.
