
Some female professional golfers are known to wear very exposed clothing. Paige Spiranac for example was known to have worn a short skirt on the course prior to the introduction of a dress code. Male golfers were critical of this practice, accusing the LPGA and other golfers of body-shaming women. Today, however, the dress code has been lifted.
Lexi Thompson
Alexis Noel Thompson is a professional American golfer who plays on LPGA Tour. At age 12, she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open. At age 15, she turned pro. She has been a part of several major championships. She won her first LPGA championship in June 2016.

At twelve years of age, she was the youngest woman ever to compete in the US Women's Open. At 16 she was already the youngest LPGA winner. She had also won her first tournament. At just 20 years old she won several LPGA tournaments. She is also considered one of world's best-fit athletes. She practices for three hours every day and plays 18 holes. Then she eats lunch and goes to work with a coach. Thompson, in addition the LPGA Tour, also gives her time to charities like the Wounded Warrior Project.
Thompson was one among the most popular players around the world in 2015 but has struggled in 2021. In 2021, she held a lead of five shots at the US Women's Open but didn't capitalize. Since then, she has won the LGPA Japan Tour as well as the Ladies European Tour. She is currently ranked 9th in the Rolex Player Rankings. She finished 17th in last spring's Lotte Championship, and 17th overall at the ANA Inspiration. She also missed her chance to win the Avnet Golf Classic's second major tournament.
Michelle Maguire
Leona Maguire became first Irishwoman on the LPGA Tour to win when she won Florida's Drive On Championship. The 27-year-old was three strokes ahead Lexi Thompson when she finished on -18. Maguire started the season with five birdies. In the final round, she tied Marina Alex. She birdied the 10th through 11th holes and the 13th to take the title.
The overall outlook for 2020 was positive for the Irishwoman, although there were some low points during the first stages. She missed 16 LPGA Match-Play events in May but rebounded to be her best during the summer. Maguire said that her success can be attributed to many experiences she has had, both good and not so good. Positive experiences increase confidence. Negative ones can be used as reality checks.

In addition to her golf achievements, Maguire was named to the 2017-18 WGCA All-American Scholars team. This honor goes to student-athletes who are academically and athletically outstanding. Maguire is a captain and team MVP, which makes her an honorary member of the honor roll. Lydia Ko's record, which she set for most World Amateur ranking weeks, was also broken by Maguire. She was also named honorary recipient of the ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship, which recognizes exceptional student-athletes and their intention to earn a graduate degree.
