In boxing, Mexicans have a rich history. Mexico is home to some of the most talented fighters in boxing, including Julio Cesar Chavez (pictured above) and Oscar De La Hoya (pictured below). Others, like Saul "Canelo Alvarez, have won the world championships and are now icons. Mexico is not as well-known for its MMA talent as it is in boxing but it has produced some the best fighters in MMA's history.
Brandon Moreno
Brandon Carrillo Moreno (professional mixed martial artist) is from Mexico. He competes in the Flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was a former Flyweight Champion, and is currently the Interim UFC Flyweight Champion. He is well-known for his fast and intense style of fighting.
He has been married to Shirley Moreno for over 10 years. She is always there to support him during public appearances. They have three girls, Maddie, Megan and Morgan. They have shared pictures of their family on social media.
Cain Velasquez
Cain Velasquez, Mexican heavyweight Cain Velasquez found a new career in professional wrestlers after his successful UFC career. He has been a wrestler in Mexico as well as the WWE. He signed with AAA Mexican wrestling promotion in December 2018. He plans to continue wrestling this year.
Velasquez was charged with attempted murder as well as multiple gun assault. Velasquez is currently being held without bail. He will appear in court Wednesday. Velasquez arrested in connection to incident. The shooting left the victim with non-life-threatening injuries.
Nick Diaz
Nick Diaz, a Mexican MMA fighter, is a world champion. He is also one of the most charismatic UFC fighters. His last fight against Rob Lawler was at UFC 47. Lawler won the fight by KO in Round 2. Diaz hasn't fought professionally since. Real Fight, Inc., is his own promotion company. With his brother, he has also started a clothing line as well as a jiu-jitsu training centre.
Diaz will make his long awaited return to the octagon in this highly anticipated fight. This could be his final fight for WME. It is not yet clear what Diaz's plans are. Ferguson will be Diaz's opponent.
Alejandro Perez
Alejandro Perez, a Mexican mixed martial arts artist, is currently competing at the Ultimate Fighting Championship's bantamweight division. His win on the reality TV show "The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America" made him famous. Perez was awarded the show and turned his attention to MMA.
Perez, 33 is a Mexican national. He was born September 2, 1989. He is 33 years of age and currently competes as a bantamweight fighter. On November 15, 2014, he made his UFC debut. He trains at American Kickboxing Academy.
Melissa Martinez
Melissa Martinez, a Mexican kickboxer of 25 years old, is Melissa Martinez. She has been competing professionally as a kickboxer since 2016. She has a perfect track record and is considered one the best prospects in mixed martial arts. She is a specialist in shock technique. She is also proficient in Muay Thai and Kickboxing.
Martinez won the gold medal at this year's 2021 World Association of Kickboxing Operators (WAKO), World Championship. She was also named best female fighter during the event. She won the 2016 Pan American Kickboxing Championship. She is also six-time national champion in kickboxing. She has a promising MMA career and plans to continue competing in kickboxing.
