Liberty's leader in assists per match is Kelsey Plum
After an explosive season last season, Kelsey Plum is poised to lead the Liberty in assists per game this year. To lead the team, the 5-foot-8 guard averaged 5.4 assists per match. Her impressive stat line is not surprising, as she leads the league with 19.6 points per game. She is actually tied for the league's lead in assists with Alyssa Tom. In her first appearance in the WNBA All-Star game, Plum earned MVP honors and set a record by hitting 12 threes.
Parker's history of injuries
DeVante Parker was the 14th overall draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in his rookie season. But he was sidelined for the first half of the season after injuring his foot during a practice. Parker required surgery to fix his foot and missed seven matches. His injury history became a significant issue at the beginning of Parker's NFL career. Parker injured his left foot in a surgical procedure and was forced to miss three games in the offseason.
WNBA standings
It's never too late to start looking at the WNBA standings. The playoffs begin on Aug. 17 and feature six teams. The Chicago Sky, and the Las Vegas Aces are already guaranteed the first two seeds. This leaves Dream, Mystics, Sun and Mystics in contention for the fourth and fifth seeds. There are also a few other teams in the mix such as the New York Liberty and Dallas Wings.
Ionescu's triple-double
Ionescu's triple-double was a historical feat for the WNBA. In the 116 to 98 victory over Las Vegas Aces, she scored 31 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and gave out 10 assists. Her triple-double is remarkable on its own but the fact that she did not turn the ball over only makes it more impressive. Ionescu is the first player in the WNBA to record a triple double, which is a major milestone for the league.
