
USA has a long tradition of supporting female sports teams. Women athletes are making waves in sports, from Biney to Schmitt and Edwards to Vollmer. Biney
Maame Biney, an American short track speedskater, won the bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in the Women's Short Track competition. She participated in the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics short track competition. Biney's extraordinary performance has attracted worldwide attention. Here are some facts. She is a champion, determined to win the top competitions in the world.
Schmitt
Allison Schmitt, one the most decorated female athletes in America, spoke out about her struggle with depression. After the 2012 Olympic Games her national team was cut and she was not invited to the world championships. She suffered from depression. She went into depression. She couldn't compete in the 2016 Olympic trials, and she even considered driving off the road. She became an American Olympic swimming champion thanks to her determination to return to the pool.
Vollmer
Dana Whitney Vollmer, a five-time Olympic gold medalist, is also a former world record holder for swimming. She set a world record in the event she won at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She also won the Olympic bronze medal and the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She was a former college swimmer who has been training hard to become a world-class swimmer. Joyner-Kersee
Jacqueline Joyner Kersee (USA) is a former track and field athlete. She won four Olympic gold medals, three gold, two bronze, and two silver. She is one of the all-time greats in the long jump and the heptathlon. She won the 1984 Olympic long jump title. Joyner-Kersee also won silver in the long leap in 1996.
Evans
Aja Evans, bobsledder, was an Olympic medalist with Team USA. She also serves as a brakeman for the bobsled. She was born in Chicago and was an All-American shotputter and track & field City Champion. Evans was an All-American in track & field and won the shot put title at the University of Illinois. She was an Olympic champion after she joined the 2012 bobsled teams.
Voisin
Maggie Voisin, a U.S. Olympic athlete for women, is one of these athletes. She missed the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics after suffering a leg fracture. She competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics but was not able to make it to the podium due to a torn left anterior cruciate ligament. Voisin was unable to compete for eight years due to the injury, but Voisin is back.
Retton
Retton served as a member in 2004 of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. The organization was established by the U.S. to promote physical activity and encourage Americans all ages to engage in sport. This council is part of United States Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Public Health and Science. Retton met his sponsor and helped drop the bill, although it did not become law.
