Morgan Brian sustained injuries in the first-half when she challenged a Swedish defense and went down. Sweden's goalkeeper, Anna-Marie Keighley, was unable to prevent it.

Sweden is the world champions. The country knocked out America in the 2016 Olympics. Sweden held a draw of 2-2 in Stockholm with America in April. But, in Tokyo, the Americans were defeated 4-0. Blackstenius's goals versus the world champs demonstrated that Sweden is not to undervalued, despite the odds.
